The combustion reaction of metals

LC1.7.1.3
The combustion reaction of metals
The combustion reaction of metals

Description

In this experiment different metal powders are burnt in the burner flame. The intensity of the reaction gives the students an insight into the tendency of the respective metal to react with oxygen (oxidation series). In addition, the experiment enables the introduction of flame colouring as a method of analysing chemical elements.
