The reasons for oxidation

LC1.7.1.2
The reasons for oxidation
The reasons for oxidation

Description

In this experiment the students heat copper with and without the presence of oxygen. In the process, they realise that the oxidation of copper sheet does not require the increased temperature, but the presence of oxygen as an oxidising agent. The increased temperature only provides the activation energy for the oxidation reaction.
