Description

Works as fuel cell or electrolyser. Using proton conducting polymer membrane (proton exchange membrane, PEM) as electrolyte, no acid or base required. The supplied hydrogen and oxygen (e.g. from air) react to form water, producing electrical energy. Generates hydrogen and oxygen from water when electric energy is supplied. The electrical energy required for electrolysis can be provided using a solar cell, a power supply unit or a Mobile CASSY 2 (524005W2) together with an Electrochemistry Box M (524450). The fuel cell is part of Science Lab Fuel Cell BZ (207261S) and Science Lab Energy EG3 (207123S).
