Seliwanoff’s test

Description

Because of the basic environment, the Fehling test is not suitable to distinguish between glucose (aldohexose) and fructose (aldoketoses) (keto-enol tautomerism). With the Seliwanoff’s test, the students get to know a detection method for ketoses (fructose).
