Electric Power Steering (EPS)

This system is a fully functional electric power steering trainer which allows the student to understand the basics of an electric assist power steering as used in today's vehicles. The trainer provides a safe and effective method of demonstrating the principles of electric power steering systems by means of two handles representing the steering wheel and steering column.

The motor is compatible with 1 kW mechanical load 739503. It is connected via a 1-cable-connection with the training panel. Thus the students can “feel” the assist effort being applied depending on various parameters.

Furthermore, there is a CAN databus signal output with some CAN databus controlled internal fault switches. Many NATEF tasks can be accomplished on this trainer and an OEM data stream is available on scan tools. OEM wiring schematics and wire colors are used.
