Induction phenomena with conductors and non-conductors

LP3.1.3.1
Induction phenomena with conductors and non-conductors
Induction phenomena with conductors and non-conductors

Description

To do this, the students explore the force effect of charged rods and a charged acetate foil on paper shavings, cotton flakes and aluminium beads. They learn about the phenomenon of induction and that charged bodies can exert a force on electrically neutral bodies without touching them. They recognise that this force can cause a charge shift within the electrically neutral body, resulting in an attraction between a charged body and an uncharged body.
