Carbon dioxide - synthesis, detection and properties
Carbon dioxide - synthesis, detection and properties

Description

In this experiment, carbon dioxide is produced by the reaction of hydrochloric acid with calcium carbonate and introduced to the lime water sample in calcium hydroxide. Additional carbon dioxide is used to suffocate a tealight. The students recognise essential properties of carbon dioxide.
