Safety rules when working with radioactive materials
Safety rules when working with radioactive materials

Description

In this experiment, students record radioactive radiation from a button-shaped source for various times and distances. In addition, the shielding with a sheet of paper should be observed. The students should realise: the longer the measurement time and/or the smaller the distance and the less shielding is used, the more pulses are measured. Safety rules when working with radioactive materials should be derived from the various parts of experiments and the findings.
