Description

The COM4LAB course Synchronous Machines is the second course to the fascinating world of electrical machines. The performance of the synchronous machines, the speed measurement and the speed adjustment are examined. The design, the principle of operation and the performance of the stepper motor are practically devised using a number of experiments. The course comprises 9 chapters.

The course covers the following topics:

Synchronous machines

  • terminal
  • rotational direction
  • stepper mode

    star connection – delta connection

  • speed measurement
  • speed adjustment with frequency converter

Stepper motor

  • design
  • principle of operation
  • rotational direction
  • stepper mode

    full-step mode – half-step mode

The course …

  • can be displayed and filled out on your own tablet/smartphone/laptop.
  • is platform-independent - a current browser is sufficient.
  • can be distributed to students via QR codes.
  • enables interactive experimenting: The measured values from the Master Unit are automatically made available for evaluation in tables and diagrams. The analysis and documentation of the experiment on the student device can be done at school or at home.
  • can be edited and thus adapted to your own lesson plan.
