The experiments are carried out with a manual on an electronic circuit board with prepared circuits.
Learning objectives
- Learning the basic logical functions
- Insight into the digital functions of adders and multiplexers
- Display of numbers in 7-segment displays
Function
Basic logic gates (AND, OR, NOT, NAND, XOR) of digital electronics are introduced. Based on this, the laws of logic operations (De Morgan's law, associative law, distributive law) are analysed and logic circuits with and without feedback are explained. Flip-flop circuits, i.e. logic circuits with feedback (switching mechanisms) are used to store information. The adder is analysed as a practical example of a switching network (logic circuits without feedback). Flip-flop circuits with additional inputs extend the knowledge of switching networks. Important technical applications of digital electronics are discussed (multiplexer, demultiplexer, control of a 7-segment display, AD/DA converter). The switching states of all outputs are visually indicated by an LED.
