System
The system simulator II (ASIMA) is ideally suited for operation with the PLC S7-1512. There are 23 different applications available in the Advanced version. The wide range of experiments extends from the testing of PLC functions to the control of small systems and enables the universal use of ASIMA in training.
The equipment includes the basic device ASIMA Plant Simulator II. ASIMA is connected to the PLC via 4 mm safety sockets or via a 50-pin ribbon cable (700 mm). The following are available
- 12 digital inputs, 12 digital outputs
- 2 analogue inputs, 2 analogue outputs
- 4 relays with NC contact
- Control and display elements:
- 6 push-buttons, 6 momentary-action switches, 33 LEDs
- 2 potentiometers with 0 ... 10 V DC
- 1 bar graph display with 24 segments
Learning objectives
- Programming simple basic circuits.
- Programming machine circuits.
- Programming small systems.
Method
The equipment is designed for student experiments. Practical tasks challenge the learner to solve the respective control problem through their own programming. Suggested solutions are supplied as a file.
A basic knowledge of PLC Programming is required to successfully complete the course.
Target group
Vocational training in industry and students specialising in automation technology. The course offers intermediate-level experiments for vocational schools and bachelor's programmes.
