System
The experiments are set up with experimental panels in the profile frame. The controlled system or control loop is controlled with the Profi-CASSY and the measured values of interest are recorded.
Learning objectives
- Recognising basic control principles
- Management and fault control
- Handling Analysis and Simulation Software
Function
Fuzzy logic is a technology for controlling and regulating technical systems without mathematical modelling. With fuzzy logic, control strategies are simply defined using elements of colloquial language. To formulate the control problem in the form of linguistic rules, physical input variables (e.g. temperature) are fuzzified, i.e. mapped to fuzzy quantities using a membership function. After fuzzification, the variables are processed according to linguistic rules. However, sharp - scalar - output variables must be available again at the output of the fuzzy module. For this reason, a final defuzzification is required. In this practical course, the fuzzy controllers are designed using the FLOP module from the WinFACT LD licence software package (734504).
Method
The equipment includes student experiments in the laboratory with non-hazardous low voltage. Experimental procedures are carried out using a manual in printed or electronic form.
Target groups
Vocational training in electrical engineering in trade and industry and students specialising in automation technology and mechatronics. The course offers both introductory courses at a basic level as well as challenging topics for bachelor's programmes.
