System
The combined level, flow & temperature process control system is self-contained and has all the functions of the individual level & flow and temperature systems as well as the setpoint control. This training system combines the individual trainers Temperature Process Control 38-002 and Level & Flow Process Control 38-001 and is prepared for the addition of the Compressed Air Cooler 38-610. The analogue setpoint input of 4-20 mA can be used to implement various forms of cascade control between linked or interactive control loops.
Function
This training system for process control is the ideal introduction to the control and regulation of liquid levels and flow rates. The system consists of a double-chamber process tank that is connected to the storage tank via manual and solenoid-operated valves. Water is pumped in a circuit via flow meters and control valves and the level is measured in a tank. The temperature training system uses water as the process fluid to study the fundamentals of process control using primary and secondary temperature circuits as controllable process variables. Both circuits pass through the heat exchanger and the secondary circuit contains an air-flow heat sink. The temperature sensors are located at the inlet and outlet of the heat exchanger and at the outlet of the radiator. The cascading of both processes, as well as the option of adding the compressed air cooler, enable scalable experiments.
Method
The equipment utilises industrial components for practice-oriented and industry-related training. Experimental procedures are carried out using an electronic manual in ESPIAL.
Target groups
Vocational training in electrical engineering in trade and industry and students specialising in automation technology and mechatronics. The course offers both introductory courses at a basic level and challenging topics for bachelor's programmes.
