System
This level and flow process control training system is the ideal introduction to the control and regulation of processes.
Learning objectives
- Flow and level control
- Impulse and step responses
- Investigation of P, PI and PID control
- Advanced process control
Function
This training system for process control is the ideal introduction to the control and regulation of liquid levels and flow rates. The system consists of a double-chamber process tank that is connected to the storage tank via manual and solenoid-operated valves. Water is pumped in a circuit via flow meters and control valves, and the fill level is measured in a tank.
Method
The equipment utilises industrial components for practice-oriented and industry-related training. Experimental procedures are carried out using an electronic manual in ESPIAL.
Target groups
Vocational training in electrical engineering in trade and industry and students specialising in automation technology and mechatronics. The course offers both introductory courses at a basic level as well as challenging topics for bachelor's programmes.
Topics
- Familiarisation and calibration of flow and level control systems
- Control and calibration of the controller
- Float switch
- Pulse transformer
- On-off control
- Study of P, PI & PID control of flow and level control systems
- Optimising a PID controller
- Advanced process control
- Selection of level and flow sensors and indicators
- Flow control by linear motorised control valve
- On-off and proportional control
- P, PI and full PID control with self-optimisation function
