Superposition of waves of the same frequency

LP1.2.8.1
Superposition of waves of the same frequency
Superposition of waves of the same frequency

Description

The students recognise that two waves of the same frequency converging in a third cord can form standing waves on the individual pieces of cord, which form different amplitudes depending on whether the oscillation is in phase or in phase opposition.

The students also learn how to determine the phase velocity of standing waves.
