The Electric Machine Trainer equipment is based on a teaching system with dismountable didactic machines. The machines, assembled from individual components – from a kit according to instructions, can be fully metrologically examined and compared with each other.
In addition to the electrotechnical learning objectives in the following list, these experiments also emphasise the ability to act when assembling the mechatronic components into a functioning motor or generator.
Objectives
- Explanation of the components of an electric motor
- Electromagnetic basics
DC motors
- Generators
- Series, shunt and compound motors.
- Single-phase and three-phase AC motors and generators,
- Series, universal, capacitor motors,
- Malfunctions in electric motors
With this teaching system, electrical machines are constructed from individual elements and investigated. The topics are very diverse and range from the fundamentals of magnetic circuits to commutator machines and three-phase machines. All relevant components of the motors are visible and must be mechanically assembled and electrically connected.
All functions of the Power Analyser CASSY can be operated quickly and directly via the display, the rotary wheel and the buttons on the unit. All settings and measurement results can be saved on the unit and quickly called up again later or simply downloaded.
In addition, the Power Analyser CASSY is fully controllable in real time via RJ45 Ethernet, W-LAN and USB-C interfaces.
These interfaces can be used by the following software:
- CASSY Lab 2 for drives and energy systems,
- MATLAB® and LabVIEW ™
- Lab Docs Editor Advanced
The following integrated servers are available in the Power Analyser CASSY for the local media connection of at least four end devices simultaneously.
For more details, see product data 727110 or 727111 Power Analyser CASSY.
The equipment is equally suitable for pupil and student experiments in the laboratory with low voltage (DC, AC and three-phase current) and - with a mobile trainer - for teacher demonstrations in the classroom or lecture hall. The experiments are carried out according to the manual.
The target group is made up of commercial apprentices and students of electrical machine construction. The course offers experiments at an intermediate level and also allows for the necessary insight into machine behaviour for scientific interpretation at undergraduate level. The media connection makes the experiments suitable for demonstration in the classroom or a lecture hall.
The Machine Test CASSY not only has the function for machine analysis, but is also a power analyser. All electrical and mechanical functions can be analysed with this system.
The Machine Test CASSY as an optimal didactic measuring and testing system can be used with different software. The simple application with CASSY LAB 2 for drives and energy systems is just as possible as individual control with LabView® or the evaluation of measurement results with Matlab®. You can find the corresponding drivers in the download area of our website.
The MPS set: Electrical machines training system is (62-102) not available in all countries. Please consult your dealer.
