System
Experimental procedures are carried out with experimental panels in a profile frame.
The equipment includes student experiments in the laboratory with non-hazardous low voltage. Experimental procedures are carried out using a manual in printed or electronic form.
Learning objectives
- Test setup and wiring according to circuit diagram
- Dealing with closed control loops
- Optimisation of servo systems
- Use of computer-controlled measuring interfaces
Function
A servo drive is the design summary of a servo motor and servo controller in one assembly. Modern servo motors are manufactured as synchronous or asynchronous motors. They have a slim design with low moments of inertia and are highly resilient. This results in the high accelerations required for dynamic performance.
Target group
Vocational training in industry and students specialising in energy technology and mechatronics. The course offers intermediate-level experiments for vocational schools and bachelor's programmes.
Topics
- Timing chain
- Display of the voltage on the main and auxiliary coils for clockwise and anti-clockwise rotation
- Frequencies, synchronous speeds and potentiometer speeds at different setpoints
- Calculation of the gear ratio
- Experiments on the control loop
- Operation with setpoint integrator
- Changeover behaviour depending on the rate of rise of the setpoint value
- Changeover behaviour as a function of the controller gain KP
