Description

System

The course teaches the essential functions of a Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and the visualisation of processes on an HMI touch panel. The trainer package for the Siemens PLC S7-1512C-1 PN contains assembly parts and accessories including the required PLC.

Learning objectives

  • Creating programmes
  • Learning logic and control functions
  • Testing the programmes
  • Setting up Profi-Net and Profi-Bus network connections
  • Process visualisation in TIA

Teaching system

The training system consists of:

  • SIMATIC S7-1500 KOMPAKT CPU, CPU 1512 C-1 PN, 32x DI, 32 DO, 5 AI, 2AO
  • SIMATIC STEP 7 Professional
  • ETHERNET cable
  • Communication processor CP 1542-5 (only with catalogue number 773075)
  • PLC base plate
  • Touch panel HMI TP1500 Comfort

Description of the PLC base plate:

  • 24 digital inputs of which 16 with push-button latching switch and 16 digital outputs are directly accessible via safety sockets (4 mm).
  • 32 digital inputs and 32 digital outputs are accessible via 27-pin connectors with assignment for MCS.
  • 2 analogue input channels and 2 analogue output channels are accessible via safety sockets (4 mm).
  • Depending on the PLC, 5 analogue input channels and 4 analogue output channels are accessible via two 30-pin connectors.
  • Profi-Net is connected directly to the CPU.
  • The power supply unit is connected via an IEC plug with switch.
  • The power supply unit is designed for an output of 156 W at 115 VAC / 230 VAC and 47-63 Hz. The mains voltage is preset.
  • The control voltage is 24 V DC at max. 6.5 A.
