Description

System

Students learn how to monitor and control a real chemical process in process engineering with a clear reaction.

Learning objectives

  • Control and optimisation of a redox process.
  • Experimental transfer of the process into a control system.
  • Operating a PLC and optimising the program on the real system.
  • Testing the function.

Structure

The teaching system contains

  • Reaction vessel
  • Immersion photometer with control unit for connecting the sensor to the PLC
  • Aeration pump
  • Chemicals and accessories for carrying out the experiment.

Method

Student experiments according to the task in the experiment description.

Target group

Vocational training in electrical engineering in the chemical industry and students of process engineering. The course imparts knowledge at an advanced level.
